Over 65 years we have been waiting for a just government. Our patience and perseverance lied in participating in those 30 and more elections, voting and choosing our representatives in the parliament. The question I raise is what has the common man got out of this? Does he deserve the treatment he is subjected to? Why is he forced to pay the govt baabu for doing his bloody job, for which the govt is as it is going to pay at the end of the month. Questions galore, answers rare.
Cut to 2011, the social-networking age. There comes a person, as simple as any simple farmer strolling down his farm in a village. He has a smile which is very honest. His intentions are clear. He is willing to give his life for his objective. He seems to be the answer for all the questions that the common man is asking all this years. He is Anna Hazare.
Lokpal movement noticed by the nation in last 15 days is a noise, that has sent tremors down the comfortable offices of corrupt officials and politicians. Yesterday, Lokpal Movement deserved its victory. But as Anna said it right, the fight has just begun.
On My march from Bandra Station to Juhu circle last week, I met a person. He was physically handicapped. His legs limped, but his intentions walked chin-up with loud thuds of confidence.
He said few words that touched my conscience. He said, "Main yahan Badalne aaya hoon". He was honest to accept that in some or the other way he had participated in corruption but today he was here, because he wanted to change. Somewhere, I deeply agreed to him. I want to thank him, but to my bad luck he escaped in the lakhs of Anna supporters before I could come back from my Soul stirring experience. How true were the words of that amazing young man. He along with lakhs have realised the real meaning of Mahatma Gandhis Words, "Be the Change, you want to see". Yes, I want to be the change, I want to see in this world. With this honest thought, I want to celebrate yesterdays success, but it pains to see a major section of media trying to question the ways and methods adopted by IAC during this movement. Why do they want to demean the efforts of honest people?
"Kachra ho to hum jhaadu uthate hai, yeh nahi dehte ki jhaadu kaun si hai-kaha se aayi hai-kisne banayi hai, kyunki hamari zarurat hoti hai Safai, Kisi bhi keemat par Safai". I want to clean my lawn(country), so I am not only supporting Anna in his movement but I have a major buy-in into his ideologies, his transparent ways of communication,his concrete stand on things. I urge, my fellow citizens, to pay no heed to such irrelevant accusations on the "ways and means"
adopted by Team Anna. Do we ever ask, How did the government manage to win the election second time around? Do we ask, how are the ministers doubling their wealth every five years? Do we ask, why is most learned politician in the country made into a dummy PM?. We don't do that, because we don't know whom to go and ask and we doubt if we could ever get an honest answer. All we can do, is protest. And in this protest no one can tell us what Gun we need to choose, what ammunition is allowed. Its our WAR and we have made the rules. Today's generation knows it all, it see things black and white, judges people in and out. So we know whats right and whats wrong. If this governments hearing has been impaired by corruption, we have chosen to make the Lokpal noise. Hence I request everybody to always be there, with your full support , because its our movement, the people`s movement.
If I want to change this Governments methods of functioning, get it right on track and make our nation a first class nation to live-in.The answer is within me. I will be the change, I want to see.
